Loyola Restaurant | Chick-Fil-A

This brand was expanding into a new market in Chicago, and need a new look. We produced hundreds of high-resolution stills of this model using the Iray GPU renderer, which helped the client evaluate surface finishes, layouts, fixtures, and furniture. I put a complete “set” of images into this portfolio page to show what we would queue up for the client, at least once every day that changes were made. We also produced QTVR panoramas of the interior so that they could effectively stand and look around. This was a couple years before you could get a Vibe and put this in a game engine, and the clients loved it. Iray and a big stack of GPUs would still take some time to make each render, but it allowed us to put in hundreds of lights and fine-detailed reflective surfaces, like the penny-round tiles on the large column.

The glass chandelier was a special focus of the client, and we made sure that the bottles were accurately modeled, and the glass effect was as realistic as we could get. Again, Iray plowed through the complex refraction of the glass and looked great.
